- Better Business Bureau. The BBB may be a good resource for you to find a surveyor. They will have the contact information along with reviews from individuals who have used that company for other projects.
- Google. The great thing about Google is that you can see how close a surveyor is located to you and the proximity to the project may influence the cost of the survey. Similarly, to the BBB, Google will also show reviews from individuals who have previously hired that company. There are links to company websites so that you can see what type of work they specialize in.
- Missouri Society of Professional Surveyors. MSPS is the professional organization for land surveyors in the state of Missouri. They offer training, information regarding licensing, and are a resource for surveyors who practice professionally in the state of Missouri. On the MSPS website you may “find a surveyor” resource button to help you locate surveyors in your area. You can search by zip code or county. That website is www.missourisurveyor.org.
- Referral. If you need a surveyor because you are having a fence installed, ask the fencing company for a recommendation. If you are purchasing a home and need a survey for closing, ask You can always get to social media and ask friends and connections if they have a company they would recommend. You might be surprised just how closely connected you are to a licensed land surveyor.
