A licensed land surveyor is a professional in the eyes of the law. A land surveyor applies state statutes to determine the exact location of a property based on a recorded document. They take what is written on paper and physically mark locations on land. It is a time-consuming process that includes researching, performing field work, analyzing the data and generating a survey drawing. The more experienced a surveyor becomes, the more fluent in the art of surveying they become. And while surveying may appear to be a science as it is driven by mathematics and law, there is an art to surveying and like many art forms takes years to perfect!
